There are countless great queerfeminist events such as conferences, camps and talks. Sometimes these events cannot be attended or even held because of a lack of funding. We can (partially) take over funds.
Here is how it works: You simply submit an application in the appropriate category and it’s not as difficult as it sounds.
We will of course be happy to answer any questions in advance in person during our office hours or in writing via email! Even if you sometimes think that an application might not go through: Just ask anyway!
You can submit an application via e-mail or in person at the weekly plenary session. Simply tell us as precisely and accurately as possible what your request is and how much money you would like to apply for and in which category.
Once we have received your complete application, we will discuss your request at the weekly plenary session. We will then also vote on whether we will support your request. You will then be informed by email whether your application has been accepted.
Please also note the exact conditions for submitting applications in the individual categories! The deadlines for submitting applications differ in some cases! We must receive the complete application by the deadline, not the first request or email with questions. This is very important for us and our internal processes, as we will only vote on an application in plenary once we have received all the important data. As a rule, we can only pay out money after the event and only when all ORIGINAL receipts and invoices have been submitted to us (in exceptional cases, we can pay out a certain proportion of the funding amount in advance).
This year there have been cuts in our budget, which have forced us to restructure our funding and financial support!
We receive far more applications than we can realistically fund and in order to make everything as fair as possible, we have decided on a lottery system for the funding of Finanical Support for FLINTA* students for Training and further Education.
Financial support for care-work-costs incurred is prioritized when allocating our funds.
Unfortunately, there may currently be delays in payment. We therefore ask you to be patient before making any inquiries. If you have not heard from us within two months of your application being accepted, please contact us again.
Financial Support for attending Training and further Education
As a WLINTA* student at Carl von Ossietzky University, you can apply for up to €240 per semester to attend events for your education and training. We can reimburse travel costs, accommodation and participation fees (we cannot reimburse food and meals). We take the principle of sustainability into account. Please choose the most sustainable option, for example climate-friendly modes of transport.
Your application must be submitted to us in full at least four weeks before the event (or the first day of an event lasting several days), but at most eight weeks beforehand, by email, application form or in person at the plenary session. We cannot accept applications retroactively!
An application is complete if you include all important information about yourself and the event, as well as a cost breakdown that is as accurate as possible. Please give us a short description of the event as well. (Please note: we would like to support you financially, but only if the event doesn’t implicate animal testing, queerphobia, trans*phobia, sexism, racism, antisemitism, ableism, or other violation of human or animal rights.)
As soon as the event has taken place, submit all ORIGINAL receipts and invoices to us and we can then reimburse you. We also require a confirmation from your instructor that you have participated in the event.
Financial Support for Care Work Costs
As a WLINTA* student at Carl von Ossietzky University, you can apply for up to 240€ per semester for care work.
If you have to do care work for e.g. children, other relatives or people, sometimes there is not enough time for other things in the 24 hours of the day. We want you to be able to take part in events or carry out projects – to make this possible, we cover care work costs.
Applications for financial aid in care work costs must be submitted to us shortly after, but no later than 4 weeks after the date on which. For example: your neighbor looked after your child. We can only pay for the People Power part of the care work, but not for material costs, meals or similar.
For a complete application, we need brief information about the care work you are applying for, the amount and all ORIGINAL invoices (e.g. an invoice written by your neighbor showing that the person did care work for you).
Again: Please make sure you hand in the ORIGINAL receipts from which it is evident you had someone do care work for you.
Financial Support for the realization of Research Projects
Your thesis is finally due, but it’s a bit too expensive? We support you in achieving your goal anyway!
As a WLINTA* student at Carl von Ossietzky University, you have the opportunity to apply for up to €150 to successfully complete your thesis. We finance e.g. printing of theses, procurement of literature, editing, translations or other costs incurred during the work.
The application must be received by us with all ORIGINAL invoices no later than two weeks after the printing of your thesis. Please make sure that you are still enrolled at the university at this time!
Financial Support for queer-feminist Projects
We also support projects of WLINTA* students of and for the Carl von Ossietzky University with a queer-feminist focus in or near Oldenburg with up to 500€.
E.g. costs for public relations (flyers, posters,…), fees, travel expenses, translations and care work. We cannot fund costs for meals and food.
Your application must be submitted to us as early as possible, but at least four weeks before the event (or the first day of an event lasting several days), either by e-mail, application form or in person at the plenary session. We cannot accept applications retrospectively!
An application is complete if you submit all the important information about the event and a cost and financing plan that is as accurate as possible, including who else you are working with.
As soon as the event has taken place, you submit all ORIGINAL receipts and invoices to us and we can then reimburse you the money.
