with Aki Krishnamurthy & Elif N. Gökpinar
In this workshop we would like to put a focus on self-care and solidarity in racist, antisemitic and sexist power relations. Racism and Antisemitism interact with sexism, they are interwoven and each has specific patterns. There are different ways of dealing with them, which can complement each other. One way is empowerment: perceiving and classifying experiences of powerlessness and mechanisms of oppression, reflecting on one‘s own strengths and qualities, developing possibilities for action and engaging in solidary exchange with others. With the workshop we open a more protected, creative and beneficial space in which we strengthen the personal and political awareness of our multiple positioning. A wide range of methods (theater of the oppressed, bodywork, biography, etc.) will be used for this purpose.
The workshops are for people who see themselves as women*lesbians, trans*, inter, non-binary, gender-queer and experience racist and/or antisemitic discrimination because of their (ascribed) origin, religion, language and appearance. This can be e.g. Romnj*a and Sint*ezza, Jews, Yezidis, Muslim women, Women of Color or Black queers.
Feel free to write to us if you have these or other questions: Is this the right workshop for me? I feel addressed, but I don‘t know if I belong to the target group. I am unsure if I can participate with my impairment. Can the instructors offer me exercises tailored to my needs?
